This Roady prototype has two firsts for us...

1) our first Titanium back barrel to go along with our standard Titanium grip. We love the dark tinted grey of Titanium.

2) our first Polycarbonate cap... and in a new grooved style. Polycarbonate is a clear engineering grade plastic that provides a cool see through to the titanium grip underneath.

  • Cap: Clear Polycarbonate plastic cap
  • Cap End: Aluminum with stamped Spoke Logo
  • Clip: Shiny Nickel Plated Stainless Steel
  • Grip: Titanium
  • Cone: Stainless Steel
  • Barrel: Titanium
  • Barrel End Plug: Stainless Steel

Spoke Roady is compatible with any 'Parker style' refill and ships with a premium Uni Jetstream SXR-600-07 Black 0.7mm refill.

  • Length, Pen Capped: 4.42 in. / 112mm
  • Length, Pen Posted: 4.74 in. / 120mm
  • Length, Pen Only: 3.99 in. / 101mm
  • Weight: 1 oz./ 28g

It's a prototype, what does that mean?

We make small quantities of certain parts and designs to try out. Sometimes we then make more and offer them as our 'standard' products, other times after review make changes and adjustments. Sometimes we make the prototypes and that's it. Making small quantities is expensive so our pricing reflects that.

We usually keep the cosmetics of prototypes more 'unrefined'. For these parts, we've mostly kept them 'as machined'.  The cap plug was epoxied to the cap. Due to the transparent nature of the cap, there are degrees of flow and bubbling of the epoxy visible at the top of the cap where the plug is attached. Through extended use these pens will likely take on some degree of wear marks and patina.

Will there be more?

We like how the Titanium back barrel and the Polycarbonate groove style cap geometry turned out. We made 5 of the Polycarbonate caps and 4 of the caps are offered on this Roady prototype version. We'll possibly make more in the future, likely with some adjustments. Remember, it's a prototype:)
